De Dutch Design Week is eindelijk van start gegaan, en bij Microstad hebben we iets groots voor je in petto. We bieden niet één, niet twee, maar drie unieke exposities, helemaal gratis te bezoeken. Dompel jezelf onder in deze bruisende creatieve wereld en laat je inspireren door het beste van Nederlands design en kunst.

Expo 1: Contrasten in Knoop XL

In de eerste expo, gehost door de Gemeente Eindhoven, neemt Microstad je mee naar Knoop XL, een gebied ter grootte van 80 voetbalvelden rondom het station in Eindhoven. Wat nu nog gedomineerd wordt door auto's en kantoorgebouwen, zal over 20 jaar transformeren tot een groene oase met water, levendige pleinen en parken, en wel 16-duizend inwoners. Sta versteld terwijl je de officiële maquette van dit gebied ziet, met videomapping die de opkomende veranderingen op magische wijze onthult. Na de projectie kun je zelfs met je telefoon of tablet een digitale blik werpen op hoe het straatleven er over 20 jaar uit kan zien. Krijg een voorproefje van de toekomst, ontdek de contrasten, en denk mee over de mogelijkheden.

Expo 2: Asterisk - Kunst, Onderzoek en Verandering*

De tweede tentoonstelling, in samenwerking met ArtEz en Pakhuis de Zwijger, biedt een diepgaande kijk op een artistiek onderzoeksproject dat twee jaar lang werd uitgevoerd in Nederland. Onder leiding van ArtEZ University of the Arts werkten vijf onderzoekers samen met twee strategische partners: Het HEM en Pakhuis De Zwijger. Hun doel was om artistieke praktijken te onderzoeken in het licht van complexe thema's en locaties, zonder vaststaande uitkomsten. Deze unieke aanpak leidde tot nieuwe inzichten en benaderingen, waarbij de grenzen van kunstonderwijs en onderzoek werden verlegd.

Expo 3: Microstad - Verbindende Kunst

Welkom bij Microstad. Dit voormalige telecommunicatiecentrum heeft een nieuwe betekenis gekregen, en jij bent uitgenodigd om mee te doen. Microstad is geen gewone plek; het is een stad binnen een stad van maar liefst 23.000 m2, waar creativiteit, ondernemerschap, technologie en cultuur samenkomen. Maar wat ons nog meer intrigeert, ben jij. We nodigen je uit om actief deel te nemen en je eigen verhaal te creëren. Grijp een van de verschillende kleuren garen en laat je creativiteit de vrije loop. Samen weven we een kunstwerk dat de diversiteit en saamhorigheid van deze bijzondere plek weerspiegelt.

The Dutch Design Week has finally kicked off, and at Microstad, we have something big in store for you. We're not offering just one, not two, but three unique exhibitions, all free to visit. Immerse yourself in this vibrant creative world and be inspired by the best of Dutch design and art.

Expo 1: Contrasts in Knoop XL

In the first exhibition, hosted by the Municipality of Eindhoven, Microstad takes you to Knoop XL, an area the size of 80 soccer fields around the station in Eindhoven. What is currently dominated by cars and office buildings will transform into a green oasis with water, lively squares and parks, and about 16,000 residents in 20 years. Be amazed as you see the official model of this area, with video mapping that magically reveals the upcoming changes. After the projection, you can even use your phone or tablet to get a digital glimpse of what street life might look like in 20 years. Get a taste of the future, explore the contrasts, and contemplate the possibilities.

Expo 2: Asterisk - Art, Research, and Change

The second exhibition, in collaboration with ArtEZ and Pakhuis de Zwijger, offers an in-depth look at an artistic research project that spanned two years in the Netherlands. Led by ArtEZ University of the Arts, five researchers worked with two strategic partners: Het HEM and Pakhuis De Zwijger. Their goal was to explore artistic practices in light of complex themes and locations, without predetermined outcomes. This unique approach led to new insights and approaches, pushing the boundaries of art education and research.

Expo 3: Microstad - Connecting Art

Welcome to Microstad. This former telecommunications center has taken on a new meaning, and you're invited to join in. Microstad is no ordinary place; it's a city within a city, covering a massive 23,000 m2, where creativity, entrepreneurship, technology, and culture converge. But what intrigues us even more is you. We invite you to actively participate and create your own story. Grab one of the various colored threads and let your creativity flow freely.
